Health Club update

Firstly, I would like to thank the Health Club staff, Housekeeping team for their hard work in making sure the new Health Club operation and the return of the Gym, Classes and Swimming Pools are safe and clean for Members to enjoy.

I’d also like to thank Members for your continued understanding in the way that we must organise and operate facilities and activities. Feedback from Members has been overwhelmingly positive in how the facilities have re-opened and I appreciate the constructive feedback that has been provided on how we can improve how we do things in the ‘new norm’.

Using the feedback and having reviewed extensively with our Health & Safety Consultants we can now bring back more activities and facilities. I am very pleased to report that we will shortly be re-introducing the following for Members in the Health Club – please click the links below for further details:

Pool Timetable – update

From Monday 7th September we will be re-introducing a Term Time Pool Timetable.

We want to operate as close to our ‘normal’ pool offering as possible, as this is even more crucial given the return of key pool activities like Aqua, Hydro, Adult Swim Sessions and of course Swimming Lessons.

Swimming Lessons whole pool – Indoor Pool, Monday to Friday 4-6pm

Due to Swim England COVID-19 guidance on the return of Swimming Lessons, we will be operating Swimming Lessons in the whole of the Indoor Pool. During this time there will be no lane available for Family or Adult Swimming, this is to ensure that we can offer a swimming lesson for all children currently within the programme.

If we do not operate in this way we will only be able to offer 60% of the children spaces to continue to learn to swim, a key life skill for all children. If we do not make these changes it would mean 95 children not being able to continue their lessons.

Following this necessary change, we will be keeping the Outdoor Pool open until 6pm Monday to Friday to ensure there is pool space for Adults and Families if they wish to swim.

Thank you for your understanding during these unusual times.

Personal item storage now available in Health Club Reception

Please note that Personal belongings must not be taken onto the gym floor other than phones, keys, water bottle and membership card.

As we not able to provide access to lockers at this time, we have listened to feedback and have purchased a storage unit to house larger personal items.

Please store all other items in the storage provided, as the rack is covered by CCTV. The Club or Staff cannot take responsibility for the security of Member’s belongings.

Gym and Studio update – electrostatic – sanitising spray

To help maintain gym cleanliness the Club has invested in an electrostatic sanitising spray gun, this is being used by the team in between sessions and is an enhanced method of making sure the gym equipment is as clean as possible for every gym session.

We ask that all Members continue to sanitise all gym equipment after use as this is a huge help in maintaining our high cleanliness standards and reducing the turnaround time between gym sessions.

Health Club – polite reminder

To help us maintain the high standards and safety around the Health Club there are a few key things which Members can help with to ensure your experience of Health Club activities is the best it can possibly be, please see a few key areas below:

◊ Please continue to sanitise all equipment after use in the Gym and Studios
◊ Pre-shower before entering the Swimming Pools
◊ Please be careful and considerate when making bookings to ensure you only book one swimming slot
◊ Please provide as much notice as possible when cancelling activities to allow other Members to make use of the space
◊ Please follow the rules in place for each activity, they have been put in place to ensure Member comfort and safety

Our operation will continue to be reviewed regularly and can be extended when further guidelines permit.

We ask that all Members continue to respect social distancing guidelines and Club policy to ensure the safety of Members and Staff at the Club.

If you have any questions speak to a Member of the Health Club team or please contact me directly.
