Head PGA Professional
It is a year since Matthew Paget Ltd started providing golf coaching and sports retailing services at the Club. During this time, those services have been managed by Ricky Pharo, as PGA Golf Services Manager. The Golf Committee, on behalf of Club golfing Members, has raised with the Board the question of whether Roehampton Club should continue to have someone fulfilling the role and title of Head Golf Professional..
After consultation with the Golf Committee and with its full support, the Board is pleased to announce that Ricky Pharo has been appointed Roehampton Club’s Head PGA Professional. We offer Ricky our congratulations on his appointment and our thanks for his excellent efforts over the last year.

Member Guest Usage from 31st July
In line with the continued opening up of sports areas and activities at the Club the Board has approved allowing Members’ guests to use the following areas at the stated times below from Saturday 31st July.
Health Club guests for the outdoor pool and gym will be allowed daily from 3-7pm subject to availability (excluding the August Bank Holiday weekend which will be Members only).
Health Club – Outdoor Pool
Guests allowed 3-7pm Monday to Sunday, maximum 40 guest slots per day, bookable online three days in advance. Maximum 1 guest per Member.
At this stage guests will be allowed entry on a first-come, first-serve basis with a maximum of 40 guest slots per day (we are working on an online booking procedure which will be launched later if required). We will operate one guest per Member, and guests must be accompanied at all times. If these areas are at capacity we will operate a ‘one in one out’ policy and we request that Members and guests do not stay for longer than 3 hours during busy times. This will be monitored throughout the day by the Health Club team.
Health Club – Gym
Guests allowed 3-7pm Monday to Sunday, maximum 20 guest slots per day, bookable online three days in advance. Max 1 guest per Member.
Golf
No change to current guest policy. Up to 3 guests per Member after 12pm Monday to Thursday, no guests Friday or Saturday, and 1 guest per Member after 12pm Sundays.
Tennis
Up to 3 guests allowed per court booking
Padel
1 guest per Member at anytime. Squash guest fees apply – £13 over 25 / £10 U25. To be reviewed 1st September.
Squash
Normal guest policy.
Croquet
1 guest per Member at anytime.
Snooker
1 guest per Member at anytime.
Bridge
Guests allowed. For face-to-face sessions, they must meet the double vaccinated entry requirement. If the guests are not double vaccinated, they are permitted for online sessions.
Backgammon / Poker
The same as the Bridge policy.
A COVID-Safe Club
Can I repeat my message of last week that despite a much welcomed relaxation of restrictions by the Government the Club wants to take every precaution to not spread the COVID-19 virus within the Club. Can I ask Members to please join staff in wearing face coverings in the Clubhouse, Sports Shop and Health Club indoor areas and continue to sanitise their hands on a regular basis. Many of our younger Members and staff have only had one vaccination or even none at all.
Even those Members who have been double vaccinated are at risk of contracting the virus, even if without the fatal consequences so prevalent earlier in the pandemic. Ours is a club for all our Members. We owe it to each other to take care for each other and our staff. Asking you please to wear a face mask in these areas is a small gesture of respect and care to all of us. Thank you for your co-operation.
