Dear Member,
It looks like we may receive some summer sunshine from next week to enjoy the excellent presentation of our golf course, grass tennis courts, croquet lawns and gardens. Peter, Ashley, Chris and Steve are receiving a lot of praise from Members for how well all is looking despite the consistent rainfall.
The Outdoor Pool will be the place to sunbathe and swim next week interspersed with a delicious pizza from the barbecue.

Upcoming events
Craft Beer – Wednesday 25th August, 5pm – 8pm
Come and sample a selection of five tasty beers from your local microbrewery. The Park Brewery make flavour-packed small-batch beers in Kingston upon Thames. Each of their beers pays tribute to Richmond Park, located a short walk from the brewery and taproom. An in-house beer expert from the brewery will be taking Members on a guided tasting session of their core range and seasonal selection. Learn all about craft beers, this microbrewery and get ready to listen to intriguing stories about nearby Richmond Park.
Alas Blackhurst and Frei – Thursday 9th September, 7pm
With the tragedy of Afghanistan filling the news this will be another topic for our two eminent journalists to get their teeth into on the night. Join Chris and Matt as they dissect world events and issues close to home including Hammersmith Bridge!

Congratulations all round
Congratulations must go to Joe Salisbury for winning the Canadian Masters Series Title with partner Rajeev Ram. They beat the world number one pair from Croatia and Joe’s world ranking has gone up to number five ready for his bid to win the US Open title.
A round of applause also for Annabell Fuller for qualifying for the AIG British Womens Open at Carnoustie. She hopes to make the cut for the weekend as she strives to finish top amateur player. To have a Roehampton Club Member teeing off in a Major Golf Championship is another first in her still young career.

Bravo to Louis Laville (Golf and Games Assistant) as he became National Men’s Pickleball champion last weekend in Bolton. Its comforting to know that our pickleball coach is the best player in the country! Find out more about Pickleball and sessions for Members to try on Saturday 28th August.
