Where did you grow up and how did you get into golf?

I grew up in Cape Town, South Africa. I was introduced to golf at a young age by my Dad and grandfathers. I was hooked from the start – spending hours on the range and gradually getting more competitive through junior golf.

Where did you go to university and what did you study?

I spent four years in the US on a golf scholarship competing on the NCAA collegiate circuit while studying a sport management degree in Oklahoma and Missouri. I was fortunate to be a 4x All-American Team nominee and Phil Mickelson award winner as Freshman of the Year.

When did you turn professional and why did you pursue this career?

I turned professional in 2020 after returning from the US in an attempt to play on the Sunshine Tour. Covid cancelled those plans, so I came to the UK and have played on the Clutch Pro Tour since. I’ve always been passionate about both playing and helping others improve their game, so a career in golf – whether through coaching, custom fitting, or performance analysis was a natural path for me.

What has made you want to make the move to Roehampton Club?

Roehampton Club has an outstanding reputation—not just as a club, but for its sense of community and passion for the game. The opportunity to be part of a high-level team and work with a great membership base is what really drew me in.

You are experienced in custom fitting golf clubs, what would be your best advice to golfers when it comes to equipment?

Get fitted! No two golf swings are the same, so why would your clubs be? Even small adjustments like the right shaft, lie angle, or grip can have a big impact on how you strike the ball and how consistent you are. I’ve seen players improve instantly just by using equipment that actually suits them. It’s not about chasing the latest gear – it’s about finding what genuinely works for your game. And when your clubs feel right, your confidence goes up too.

What is your coaching style?

My coaching style is all about keeping things clear, relaxed, and relevant to each golfer. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach – everyone learns differently and has different goals, so I adapt to that. Whether you’re just starting out or chasing lower scores, I focus on helping you understand your own swing, build solid fundamentals, and apply it all on the course where it really matters. The aim is simple: help you play better golf and enjoy it more.

What is your favourite golf course?

That’s a tough one, but I’d have to say Prestwick. The layout, the history and the challenge of the weather make it special.

What is your best round of golf?

9 under par 63 at Rondebosch Golf Club.

Have you had any holes in one?

Yes, I’ve been lucky enough to have four holes in one. Three of them in competition which always helps the scorecard.

What are your favourite golf brands and what’s in your bag?

I’m Team Titleist myself, but all the big brands are making great clubs these days.
Driver: GT3 Titleist
Irons: Titlest T100s
Wedges: Callaway Opus
Putter: LAB
Ball: PRO V1

Who are your favourite pros to watch?

My hero growing up was Ernie Els but these days I love watching Rory and Scottie make the game look so easy as well as Nelly Korda with her silky-smooth swing.

What are you looking forward to the most at Roehampton Club?

I’m looking forward to getting to know the Members, building relationships, and helping players of all levels enjoy the game more. Whether it’s a swing breakthrough or a better fitting set of clubs, I love being part of someone’s golf journey.

What are your favourite things to do outside of golf?

Going to watch live sport (football, cricket, rugby), having a Braai (barbecue), and I love a comedy night.
