 Q&A with Matt Frei, 20th November

Last Friday we were fortunate to listen to Channel 4’s Europe Editor, former Washington Correspondent and Member Matt Frei talk about the results and ramifications of the US Presidential election, his views on Russia’s increasing influence in world affairs and, of course, Brexit. Nearly 200 Members tuned in to the evening via Zoom. Here’s what you had to say:

Matt was absolutely outstanding … He is so brilliantly succinct and perceptive and we would have been happy if he’d carried on for another hour. Terrific hosting and questioning by Marc too, as always! Great evening all round.

Congrats on another excellent event. Great to have Matt’s input on the most topical issues and lovely to see so many familiar faces, albeit on zoom.

Many thanks for getting us enrolled for the evening. It was very interesting and we enjoyed it greatly.

I’d like to say how brilliant the whole event was an excellent evening Julian and I had listened to Matt Frei.  We really appreciated him giving up his time and it was so interesting. Also thank you very much to Marc for hosting it so effectively.

Virtual Talk on English Stately Homes by Viv Haxby

Virtual Christmas Wreath Workshop

Tuesday 8th December, 2 – 4pm

You can still have fun (in your bubble!) and make a Christmas wreath online with Shilpa of Shilpa Reddy Flower Design back from last year by popular demand. An interactive and fun virtual workshop, we will post the entire kit, including all materials, plants and equipment, to your home.

The kits will be delivered two days before the event to ensure freshness. All you have to do is log on, and join Shilpa with her team of Christmas elves to make a beautifully scented and sustainable wreath from scratch. It’s so easy you can even take part in your pyjamas! £60 per person – limited availability.

Alistair McGowan’s Mystery Voices Part Two

We have asked the Club’s favourite impressionist Alistair McGowan to conjure up a number of his most famous voices from the past.

Alistair was one of the original impressionists on Spitting Image the first time around and he has blended a mixture of celebrity voices from across the last few decades for you to guess to win our mystery prize.

Once you have identified all 13 voices (no tricky ones to catch you out this time) send in your answers to nicki.davis@roehamptonclub.co.uk by Monday 30th November.

All correct entries will enter the Prize Draw for a unique Roehampton Club gift.
