Men’s Golf Seniors Report

Despite the colder weather arriving, forty-eight golfers entered the November Grail competition on Wednesday of this week. It was a good day for winter golf with little wind and the course having benefitted from the recent dry spell. The relatively benign conditions enabled ten players to score better than their handicaps.

The top four places in the Grail were filled by

Name                                         Points

1st       David Todd                         41 (Countback – Back 9 25 Points)
2nd     Alec Lever                            41 (Countback – Back 9 25 Points)
3rd      Roy Martin                          39 (Countback – Back 9 20 Points)
4th      Mark Harries                       39 (Countback – Back 9 19 Points)

Well played to all of them but special congratulations go to David and Alec for achieving such a high score.

We are now entering the festive season and on 8th December, the seniors will be holding their traditional 9-hole competition and Christmas lunch.  We will play greensomes on the front nine holes and Four Ball Better Ball on the back nine. With three prizes on offer on each nine holes and a nearest the pin in each half, some lucky – or expert – golfers are going to make a flying start to Christmas. Seniors do not have to join in on the course to attend lunch although there are several vacant places on the start sheet. There are still places available for lunch too at a bargain price of £35. Please join us.

We are also having a roll up next week – Team stableford with mulligan – for which seniors can sign up on Intelligent Golf.
