RLSS UK Platinum Jubilee Medallion

Sunday 12th June or Sunday 19th June, 11am to 3pm.

To celebrate the Queen’s 70 years of service, the Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK) has developed the Platinum Jubilee Medallion in celebration of Her Majesty’s historic reign.

The Queen became the first young person in the Commonwealth to achieve the Society’s Junior Respiration Award, providing an example to young people and helping establish lifesaving and resuscitation qualifications across the Commonwealth.

There are only 1,800 medallions being produced in the whole of the UK and Roehampton Club have managed to secure 24 places for Members to complete the training and achieve their medallion at the Club on either Sunday 12th June and Sunday 19th June between 11am and 3pm.

There are various skills required as part of the assessment to be awarded with the medallion, including accompanied rescues, tows, fitness swim, lifesaving swimming strokes, CPR, and the use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). The training and assessment will take place the same day.

Participants must be over 16yrs of age and be able to swim 200m unaided.

There will be a £5 signup fee to take part in this special event.
