Racquet Director’s Diary

Unfortunately, there is still no sign of when the Club might open and tennis can resume in some form. Until then we must all stay fit and active while at home and hope that by the time the weather starts to improve, we can all get back on court again.

Australian Open Sweepstake

The Australian Open gets underway on Monday 8th February. With many players having to quarantine in their hotel rooms for two weeks it could produce some interesting results.

Roehampton Club’s first team player Joe Salisbury is currently out in Australia hoping to his defend Men’s Doubles title from last year. His partner Rajeev Ram was one of the players having to self-isolate in his hotel for two weeks so let’s hope they will have enough time to practice together before the tournament begins.

The draw will be made in the next few days and to add some excitement to the event I am running a sweepstake for the Men’s Singles. The winner will receive five guest passes to use when the Club reopens, and guests are permitted.

How to enter

◊ Once the draw has been made, I will randomly list the competing players from 1 to 128.
◊ To enter please send me an email. dan.lott@roehamptonclub.co.uk
◊ Each time I receive an entry via email I will reply with the player who is next on the list.
◊ If that player wins the Men’s Singles you win the guest passes.
◊ All entries free of charge.
◊ If there are still players available when the tournament starts each Member that has entered will be issued another player until they have all been allocated.
