Racquet Director’s Diary

Junior tennis programme

We are excited to have restarted the Junior group coaching programme on Wednesday this week. On Tuesday we were updated on the guidelines for tennis clubs and lessons. We will be operating by all the guidelines, but we would also be extremely grateful if you could help ensure safe practice by abiding the guidelines that have been set out below. We would be very grateful if you could help ensure safe practice by abiding by the guidelines set out below.

◊ If you, your child, or anyone in your household is showing any symptoms of COVID-19 please stay at home

◊ When entering the Club all Members will be asked to sanitise their hands.

◊ Please ensure you know which court and which coach will be taking the session so you can go straight to your court where your coach will be ready. This information will be emailed to the Member prior to the first session.

◊ Each coach has been allocated a set number of children for the three weeks. There will be no movement between players or coaches during the sessions or from week to week.

◊ Please do not arrive at the court earlier than your lesson time as we are trying to avoid crossing of Members.

◊ Please note the length of lesson will be 40 or 55 mins to ensure that all participants exit the court before the next players arrive. Please ensure that you pick your child up on time.

◊ Upon exiting the court children will be asked to sanitise their hands.

◊ Please keep to the new restrictions on social activities from July 4th but in the meantime please don’t form groups after your lesson- please leave the Club promptly.

◊ The clubhouse and changing facilities remain closed. There is one toilet in operation at the Croquet Pavilion. We would recommend that all children that attend sessions go to toilet prior to the session.

◊ Parents waiting for Junior Members may wait in the gardens.

Summer Camps

Summer Camps will run throughout the summer starting on the 13th July. For more information please see this link to the Tennis and Multi-Activity Summer Camps

MyCourt Bookings

Please may I remind all Members to input their playing partners when booking a court online. I know it may take slightly longer but the new guidelines state we must do this so we can keep track of who is onsite each day.

Checking in for courts

There are three ways you can check-in for your court booking when you arrive at the Club.

  1. Call Reception on 020 8480 4200 and ask them to check in for you
  2. Ask the Security Gatehouse Team to check you in.
  3. Use GPS check-in. In order to do this, you will need to be outside main Reception and have your location services turned on in your smartphone settings

Grass courts 20 – 24

Please note to access grass courts 20 to 24 Members need to walk behind the Croquet Pavilion and enter the courts at the side of the Club’s back gate. This is to reduce the traffic with the golfers walking to the 10th tee.
