Welcoming Dr Chris Bosshardt

Consultant in Sport and Exercise Medicine at Pure Sports Medicine

We are delighted to welcome Dr Chris Bosshardt to the team at Pure Sports Medicine Roehampton Club. Chris joined us in May as a Consultant in Sport & Exercise and Musculoskeletal Medicine, bringing extensive experience from both elite sport and NHS clinical practice. [puresportsmed.com]

For Roehampton Club Members, this means access to a highly experienced specialist who understands not only injury management, but also the demands of staying active – whether that’s on the tennis court, golf course, padel court, or in the gym.

Expert care for active lifestyles

Chris specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries, including tendon problems, joint pain, muscle injuries, and overuse conditions. These are exactly the types of issues we commonly see within the Club’s active community. With experience working across professional sports – including football, rugby, tennis, and major events such as the Commonwealth Games – Chris brings a performance‑focused mindset to his clinical work. His goal is simple: to help you recover efficiently, return safely to activity, and continue performing at your best.

Advanced diagnosis and injection therapy

One of Chris’ key areas of expertise is in musculoskeletal ultrasound and ultrasound guided injections. This is particularly relevant for Members who may have read our recent newsletter content on injection therapies available at Pure Sports Medicine, including hyaluronic acid, PRP, and other joint treatments. Using ultrasound technology, Chris is able to:
• Accurately diagnose the source of pain
• Visualise structures such as tendons, joints, and muscles in real time
• Deliver precise, targeted injections directly into the affected area
This level of precision improves both safety and effectiveness, ensuring that treatment is directed exactly where it is needed.

How injection therapy supports recovery

As highlighted in our recent articles, injection therapy is often used as part of a wider treatment strategy, rather than a standalone solution. Under Chris’ care, these treatments are carefully selected and combined with physiotherapy and rehabilitation to achieve the best outcomes. Common options available through Pure Sports Medicine include:
• Hyaluronic Acid injections to support joint lubrication and movement
• Corticosteroid injections to reduce inflammation in acute flare ups
• Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) to support tissue healing in selected conditions
• Arthrosamid® hydrogel injections for longer lasting joint cushioning
Chris’ advanced training allows him to guide patients through these options clearly – helping you decide what is appropriate, when it is needed, and how it fits into your recovery plan.

A complete pathway of care

What makes Chris’ role particularly valuable to Roehampton Club Members is the integration of his work within the Pure Sports Medicine multidisciplinary team. Following assessment, Members benefit from a seamless pathway that may include:
• Specialist diagnosis
• Injection therapy where appropriate
• Physiotherapy and rehabilitation
• Strength and conditioning support
This joined up approach ensures that you don’t just manage symptoms – you return to your activity stronger, more confident, and better prepared.

Supporting Members on and off the court

Whether you are managing a long standing issue, recovering from an injury, or looking for expert guidance on joint health, Dr Bosshardt offers a clear, practical, and personalised approach. His experience working with both elite athletes and everyday active individuals means he understands what matters most: getting you back to doing what you enjoy, safely and sustainably.
