The Many Faces of Marilyn Monroe
Tuesday 6th October 7.30pm
One hundred years after her birth the images of Marilyn Monroe still fascinate all who view them. She was a screen goddess and a cultural icon whose face was familiar worldwide in publicity shots, beauty magazines as well as postage stamps and Roy Lichtenstein’s comic style paintings.
Many of these are on show at the National Portrait Gallery until 6th September. But who was the woman behind the face? Join us to find out more from John Francis, an experienced lecturer in film, photography and art.
Free for Art Group members.
