December Grail
The last Grail of an eventful year was played on Wednesday 16th December. Due to the wet weather, it was carrying only and we had three temporary greens in addition to the two winter tees and two temporary tees. A number of the older competitors very sensibly decided to withdraw but we still had 55 names on the startsheet. Those of us who played early enjoyed the best of the day and managed to finish before the rain arrived. The general view was that the course was in remarkably good condition, but it was helpful to stay on the fairways since the rough was very muddy and balls had the disconcerting habit of disappearing if you did not hit them straight

4th – Nick Pack – 38
5th – Neil Symons – 37 countback
Congratulations to both Brian and Raj for their very good scores.
The next Grail takes place on Wednesday 27th January. In the meantime, I wish all Seniors a Happy Christmas despite all the restrictions and let’s hope that the New Year brings with it the prospect of a return to normal life – both on and off the golf course!
