The Junior Golf Academy

Our Junior Golf Academy offers Junior Golfers aged 5 upwards a fantastic opportunity to start their golfing journey and learn the game. The academy forms a clear pathway to learn to play golf, make new friends and provides great opportunities to gain experience of golf, learn about rules and etiquette and assists in becoming junior members of the club. Our emphasis is playing more golf, recording more scores, and ultimately having more fun.

We have classes available Saturday and Sunday during the school terms with our PGA Professionals delivering a structured programme to ensure a fun and elementary introduction to golf while developing through technical instruction through games-based learning.

During the school holidays we run camps on a variety of days. These are fun days for all levels aimed at developing solid fundamentals, as well as covering topics such as chipping tips and tricks, how to hole every putt, playing on the course and mini competitions. Junior Golf Academy Spring Term Timetable 2026

Saturday 10th January – Sunday 29th March 2026
Half term – 16th to 22nd February

The Junior Golf Academy 2026 spring term now open for booking. Term will run from Saturday 10th January to Sunday 29th March, offering eleven weeks of golf coaching (half term 16th to 22nd February) for our Junior Members aged 5 to 13+ years’ old.

Please note that these groups are strictly organised by squads and designed by the coaches, this ensures that your child gets the best opportunity to develop their golf in the most effective way. To read more detail about our junior coaching philosophies click here

Places are offered on a first-come, first-served basis – places will not be reserved without payment. Please reply to this email directly regarding groupings if you are unsure and our coaches can advise.

We have introduced an early bird discounted rate of £220 or £440 to align with tennis coaching policies which will be valid for bookings up until 14th December. Bookings made after this date will be charged at the full price of £280 and £560.

Junior Golf Academy Half Term Camps

Junior Golf Academy Half Term Camps will be running from Monday 16th February to Friday 20th February.

These camps will be hosted by PGA Professionals Alistair Snowdon, Brad Scott, Sol Boyd, Sam Rebane and Wesley Byatt who will deliver a fun, structured programme for all levels covering all aspects of the game, including on-course tuition where possible, aimed at developing solid fundamentals in a fun learning environment through games-based learning.

We will run two sessions on each of the below dates from 9-12pm (ages 5-9 years) or 1-4pm (ages 10+ years) – You are welcome to sign up for multiple days if you wish. Groups are limited to just 6 juniors* and places are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The cost of the sessions is £50 per child, per session.

Monday 16th February – 9am -12pm – Ages 5-9 – Discovery Squad
Monday 16th February – 1-4 pm – Ages 10+ – Explorer/Challenger Squad
Wednesday 18th February – 9am -12pm – Ages 5-9 – Discovery Squad
Wednesday 18th February – 1-4pm Ages 10+ – Explorer/Challenger Squad
Friday 20th February – 9am -12pm – Ages 5-9 – Discovery Squad
Friday 20th February – 1-4 pm – Ages 10+ – Explorer/Challenger Squad

Please note we require a minimum of three children to carry out a session and sessions will be cancelled three days prior to the event should numbers be too low.

Cadet Coaching

Coaching will be 30 minute sessions with Ricky Pharo or one of his PGA Professional team, covering different aspects of the game each session.
Over the sessions, Ricky aims to cover all areas of the game.
Maximum 12 Players (on a first come first served basis).

SafeGolf 

In summer 2022, Roehampton Club was awarded the SafeGolf national golf accreditation for safeguarding and this was renewed in 2024.

The SafeGolf is a partnership of UK golf bodies committed to promoting a safe and positive environment for all those participating, working and volunteering in the sport of golf.

The SafeGolf partnership consists of members from the golfing bodies across Great Britain and Ireland and has been established to help golf respond to the issue of child protection in sport. Its mission is to safeguard the welfare of children and young people, as well as adults at risk, in the sport of golf.

SafeGolf is firstly, a website – www.safegolf.org – through which anyone with a concern about the welfare of a player, or the behaviour or practice of a coach, volunteer, organiser, parent or a player, can contact the lead safeguarding officer at their national governing body.

Secondly, it is the safeguarding standard England Golf will promote to all their affiliated clubs to ensure all clubs provide a safe and positive experience to children and young people whilst playing golf. The PGA are also using the standards to apply to all their PGA professional Coaches.

Junior Weekend Golf Pass

Only juniors who have been awarded Bronze, Silver and Gold standard bag tags will be eligible to purchase a Junior Weekend Golf Pass. The Pass (2025, £196) is organised via the Membership Office – membership@roehamptonclub.co.uk

Junior Members are requested to observe the dress code at all times.
