Maximise your workout with circuit training

With the new 45 minute gym slots, it is important that you make the most out of your time in the gym. One way to do this can be to incorporate circuits into your training, utilising circuits will not only get you maximised results in minimum time but you will also challenge your whole body. Circuit training is part strength training and part cardio, which is what makes it one of the most effective workouts out there.

If you love cardio but know you should do some weights too (or vice versa), forcing yourself to do an entire workout you don’t enjoy can be tedious and much easier to skip. However circuit training will offer you the best of both worlds by allowing you to combine intervals of high-intensity cardio with weight lifting. Thanks to this circuit training will burn more calories in 20 minutes than you would in an entire hour on the cross trainer, plus the afterburn effect will have you burning calories for up to 48 hours after your workout ends.

Circuit training allows you to mix in a variety of moves using different equipment such as weights, kettlebells, the bosu or simply even just using your own bodyweight.
