Virtual Q&A with Tennis Legend Boris Becker, Thursday 15th October 6.30pm to 7.30pm (date changed from Wednesday 14th October)
Boris Becker is the German former world No. 1 and memorably won the first of his six major singles titles at Wimbledon at the age of 17 in 1985. Boris has been a Member of Roehampton Club for a number of years, and we are delighted that he has agreed to talk to Members about his illustrious career on court, his coaching of multi grand slam champion Novak Djokovic, his new role heading up the German national team and the recent US and French Open results.

Virtual wine tasting with wine expert Julie Jackson, Friday 30th October 6.30pm – 7.30pm
Julie Jackson, MD of Wimbledon wine merchants Jackson Nugent Vintners Ltd, will be leading a live tutored tasting for members by Zoom on Friday 30th October. This fun and informative event will highlight different styles and grape varieties from around the world via a tasting pack of six high-quality wines delivered to your home in half-bottles (375ml). This is a free event in that you will only be paying for the cost of the wines and delivery.

The price for the bespoke case of six wines from Jackson Nugent Vintners is £42.72 plus delivery. UK mainland delivery charge is £9.95 + VAT. Please note numbers are limited, and cases will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. One case only per household. Please note the deadline for submitting orders is midday on Friday 16th October.

Virtual Talk and Q&A with C4 Europe Editor and Presenter Matt Frei, Friday 20th November 6.30pm 7.30pm
Hear Channel 4’s Europe Editor and former Washington Correspondent Matt Frei talk about the results and ramifications of the US Presidential election on 3rd November. Will it be Trump or Biden? Matt and his family are Club Members. Matt will also give his views on Russia’s increasing influence in world affairs and the UK Government’s performance this year. Matt’s talks to Members are always entertaining and revealing.

European Senior Tour Roehampton Club Pro Am – 11th September 2020
Unfortunately the Club had to cancel its usual two day Senior Tour Pro Am this year, which would have been its 6th consecutive tournament. However, on Friday we were delighted to welcome four top Legend Tour Pros to play our course for the first time, interact with Committee Members and enjoy a delicious lunch afterwards within current social distancing restrictions. Roger Chapman, Andrew Raitt, David Shacklady, Paul Streeter and our Roehampton Club’s touring Pro, Gary Marks, all remarked on the superb condition of the course, and outstanding green surfaces.
