Croquet Communique

How very disappointing to find ourselves without Croquet again! A return to full play seems unlikely in the foreseeable future. Who remembers the chaos of 35 people turning up for a Golf Croquet Club Morning, or even a day spent spectating doubles on all three lawns!

Work will continue behind the scenes – planning for the year becomes even more complicated when you can’t fully commit to arrangements.

However, the Competitions Sub-Committee have been busy and will shortly be announcing this year’s internal competitions.

The Booking System is being reviewed and other activities and developments are under consideration.

Despite some very poor weather, the ground staff have allowed play on all but the wettest days, for which we are all grateful. I am pleased to see the floodlights being used to prolong the playing days.

My Mallet is ‘shielding’ again – now reduced to solving jigsaws!

I wish everyone a Happy and Healthy New Year! Keep well, keep safe!
