Dear Member,
Following the Government’s order issued on the afternoon of Friday 20th March, the Board decided that the Health Club, Indoor Tennis, Squash Courts, Sports Shop and the Clubhouse should close to Members from Saturday 21st March. Until further clarification is obtained from the government or our lawyers on the full scope of the Order, it has been agreed to allow the golf course, outdoor tennis courts and croquet lawns to remain open for casual play and lessons for Members only for the time being.

Members should note that other clubs have decided to close completely and this may be the result for our Club in very short order.

Members will be allowed to enter the Clubhouse and Croquet Pavilion on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd March to collect their Clubs, racquets and croquet mallets as access to the Clubhouse will close from Monday 23rd March. Access to the trolley sheds and outdoor lockers will continue as normal. Staff will control access to the Clubhouse and Croquet Pavilion to ensure that Members respect social distancing and also don’t linger longer than necessary in the interests of everyone’s health and safety.

Only two balls will be allowed on the golf course and only two players on a tennis court and a maximum of four on a croquet lawn from Sunday 22nd March. Current procedures to book tee times, courts and lawns will still apply.

No visitors and guests are allowed to enter the Club.

We will operate on a reduced staff rota so that we can still attend to Members’ health and safety needs and the maintenance of the facilities while we remain open.

We are faced with an unprecedented set of circumstances so we would appreciate every Member’s support as we try to maintain some outdoor exercise facilities for our Members.

We will continue to update Members as the situation evolves. Changes may be made at short notice. Members should check their emails or the website before coming to the Club.

Yours sincerely,
Alan Jenkins, Chairman
Marc Newey, Chief Executive
