National Premier League Doubles Finals

 

Being our 125th year we have agreed to host the National Tennis Club Doubles Finals for the first time on our grass courts. There are 16 mens and 12 women teams battling out to be National Champions.

 

The competition starts on Friday 22nd May and the Finals are on Bank Holiday Monday 25th May. We will update Members with the Roehampton Club team scores over the weekend as our teams will be playing on courts 25 and 26. Refreshments will be available for spectators overlooking the grass courts and in the piazza.

 

Please come and support our teams as other Clubs will be bringing their supporters! Visitors will be directed to park in the Overflow car park in Rosslyn Park for the four days.

 

Please note that the Club car parks will be busy all weekend.

Dance the night away to live music from Pat Cash and the Rolling Stoics with DJ. Have fun with our magician, casino, 8-lane Scalextric, reaction games, photobooth, drone light show and more!

Indulge in a culinary journey across Britain, Europe, Italy, and Asia, with a vibrant selection of street food brought to life by our chefs with a touch of theatre, followed by sweet treats and artisan cheeses.

 

Bars serving beer, wine, cocktails, Roehampton Club Gin and Rum will be dotted throughout the gardens and a dedicated Pommery pop-up bar will keep the sparkling wine flowing, while Pinkster Gin will be crafting refreshing cocktails.

125 Rose Afternoon Tea

 

Tuesday 2nd June 3pm

 

A Roehampton Club Rose has been specially grown and named to commemorate the Club’s 125-year milestone and is a nod to the original rose gardens planted in the Club’s founding years.

 

Roehampton Club Roses have been planted in the Club’s gardens and a limited number are available for Members to purchase at £29.95 each on the day and afterwards (subject to availability).

 

Help us celebrate the Club’s gardens and roses with this afternoon tea to include a glass of Pommery England Rosé plus:

 

A selection of finger sandwiches – salmon and cream cheese, egg mayonnaise, cucumber. Sweet treats – pistachio macaroons, champagne jelly with raspberry panacotta, honeybee cupcakes, mini scones with jam and cream, tea or coffee.

Indoor Golf Centre

Work is progressing well and the Project Manager Sports Clubhouses have reported to the Club’s project monitoring group that the works schedule is on time and on budget after the first month.

125 Junior Swimming Gala

Congratulations to Sue Wilson and her team of coaches for the excellent hosting of the 125 Junior Gala last weekend. Roehampton Club performed superbly finishing a very close second to Hurlingham Club with RAC in third place. The parents and kids had a great time which is the most important factor.

Grass courts are open, golf course and croquet lawns looking fabulous

Thanks must be given to our Grounds Team for opening the grass courts for the 1st May. The weather has been mixed since their opening but the sun will be shining for this weekend’s competition and next week as we lead into the French Open, Queens’ and Wimbledon. All these events plus the Football World Cup can be watched on our big screen TV in the Piazza. Stars of the croquet world have been commenting on how wonderfully our croquet lawns are playing over the last few weeks as have our golfers recently competing in the Spring Meeting competitions. Thanks to our Greenkeeping Team and also thanks to the Gardeners who are in the process of planting the new summer bedding around the Clubhouse this weekend.

The whole Club team is geared up to delivering an exciting summer of Club 125 events for our Members and guests.
