Online art classes

The Art Group’s Summer Term of art classes are open to all Club Members and will take place live online, with tutors Kathy Barker and Charles Penny.

It’s a great chance to try something new, learn or build upon your artistic skills whilst having fun talking with the tutor and the other students in the class.

The classes will run over 5 weeks from the 15th April at the times listed below.

The classes will be delivered using Zoom video conferencing which is really easy to use and allows the classes to run live.  You can see, hear and talk with Kathy or Charles, show them your artwork as it progresses during the class, get their tuition and talk with the other students.

With the aim of following, as much as possible, the format of existing classes, each 3- hour class includes a demonstration by the tutor with time for questions, an opportunity to work on your drawing or painting and finally a review of everyone’s work.

You can choose how much of the class you’re online for, so if you want to work offline after the demonstration then re-join for the review, that’s fine. If you decide to stay online you can continue to ask the tutor for advice and talk to the other students throughout.

The cost for the 5-class summer term will be £50 to Art Group Members, which is great value at £10 a class. If you are not already an Art Group Member then it is simple to join.

Discovering Watercolour with Charles Penny

Mondays 10am-1pm or 2-5pm – 20th April to 18th May
Tuesdays 2-5pm – 21st April to 19th May

Life Drawing and Painting with Kathy Barker

Wednesdays 10am-1pm – 15th April to 13th May

Beginners and Improvers Drawing and Painting

Wednesdays 2-5pm – 15th April to 13th May

Painting in Acrylics with Kathy Barker

Fridays 10am-1pm or 2-5pm – 17th April to 15th May

It is possible that the timing and availability of classes will vary depending on numbers.

We are offering membership for £15, which reflects the balance pro-rate to the end of the year.
