Annual Art Group Exhibition and Sale 2025

The annual Art Group Exhibition and Sale 2025 will take place from 11th – 23rd November.

The Art Group Exhibition and Sale is the highlight of the Art Group’s year, allowing our talented artists to show and sell their artwork.  Artwork will be displayed in the Meeting Rooms, Health Club and Reading Room, bringing creativity and colour throughout the Club.

Last year 66 artists entered 187 artworks, including acrylics, water colours, pastels, mixed media, oils, charcoal, pencil and ceramics.  There was a distinct improvement in the standard of everyone’s work, and we are looking forward to another successful and perhaps even better exhibition in 2025.

All members of the Art Group are invited to enter; the entry fee is £5 per artist, who can submit up to a maximum of three framed artworks for display in the exhibition.

To make sure we can fit all the entries onto the panels, and keep improving the exhibition, we have amended the entry instructions – please see below for details of what can be entered.

The artist may choose whether to offer their artwork for sale or not, and at what price.

As well as entering artworks into the main exhibition you can, at no cost, place up to five artworks in the browser, which do not need to be framed.

We are always looking for new talented artists and innovative artworks.

Key dates:

Full details of how to enter the exhibition will be emailed to all Art Group members and posted on the Art Group noticeboard in Reception from 8th September.

◊ Deadline for Entry Forms – Friday 10th October 2025
◊ Delivery of artwork to the Club – 5pm to 7pm Sunday 9th November
◊ Collection of artwork from the Club – 3pm to 5pm Sunday 23rd November.

Exhibition Entry Instructions

◊ The maximum size of any picture should be 80cm x 80cm, including frames.
◊ Artists are encouraged to produce their own, original compositions. These can be influenced by the techniques, styles and colours of other artists, but should not be copies of famous artworks.
◊ Artists who are taking classes are asked to avoid entering the same image as a fellow student (please talk to your tutor and fellow students to minimise duplicates).

Art Group Dinner – Tuesday 11th November 2025

The exhibition is launched with a private view and drinks Reception, followed by our annual dinner for all Art Group members and their guests. This is a great opportunity to meet and chat with fellow artists at the Club, while viewing the exhibition and celebrating the activities of the Art Group through the year.

Other exhibitions

We have an exhibition of artwork by students taking Art Group classes, which is held in the Reading Room in spring each year. It is a great way to show off the work of our students and the teaching skills of our professional tutors.

There are currently a record 115 students taking classes in watercolours, acrylics, pastels, mixed media and life drawing, together with a beginners and an improvers class.

In order to not overwhelm the Reading Room a different group of classes are invited each year to exhibit.

Our more accomplished artists are also invited to form individual or a joint exhibitions of their art. These are held each month and are displayed in the Reading Room at the Club.

This is a great way for Members to view and, if they wish, buy works of art while at the Club.
