Annual Art Group Exhibition and Sale

The annual Art Group Exhibition and Sale takes place over two weeks in November each year.

Artwork is located throughout the Club; in the Fountain Room, Health Club and Reading Room. It brings colour to the Club and allows our talented artists to show and sell their work.

This is a creative and vibrant time for the art group. We had a record 140 wonderful entries by 45 artists displayed in the exhibition in 2021!

All members of the Art Group are invited to enter up to three artworks for a small charge.

The artist may choose whether or not to offer the artwork for sale and at what price.

The standard of entries continues to impress everyone and includes paintings in water colours, acrylics, pastels and oils with life drawings in charcoal and pencil, and textile art and ceramics.

We are always looking for new artists and innovative categories.

Details of how to enter the exhibition are emailed to all Art Group members and posted on the Art Group notice board in Reception, around the Club from September.

Art Group Dinner

The exhibition is launched with a Private View and drinks reception, followed by our annual dinner for all Art Group Members and their guests. This is a great opportunity to meet and chat with fellow artists at the Club while viewing the exhibition.

Other Exhibitions

Classwork Exhibition

Students participating in the Art Group Classes are invited to exhibit an artwork they have produced in class in the current Classwork Exhibition. This runs until 29th April in the Reading Room. It’s a great way to show off the work of our students and how they have benefitted from the great teaching skills of our professional tutors.

There are currently 90 students taking classes in watercolours, acrylics, pastels and life drawing, together with a beginners and improvers class. The exhibition is an enjoyable way to see the range of styles and standards of our artists.

Reading Room Exhibitions

Our more accomplished artists are invited to form individual or joint exhibitions showcasing their work. These are held each month in the Reading Room at the Club and work is available for sale.

This is a great way for Members to view and, if they wish, buy works of art at the Club.
