On Sunday 24th March, the 11&U Boys and Girls both won the Surrey Tennis Trophy. Congratulations to the Roehampton Club 11&U Boys’ and Girls’ teams who were crowned Surrey Trophy champions on Sunday.
The boys’ team consisting of Matthew Ground and Adrian Chau won 3-0. Both boys have played and won every match, dropping just a few games over the entire competition.
The girls’ team consisting of Martha Ground and Amelia Brand and Emily Noce beat older and higher rated opposition in the final taking the match 3-0. The Roehampton Club girls’ team were the youngest in the competition with all juniors representing the club aged 8-10 years old however like the boys they didn’t drop a single rubber over the competition.
A special mention also to Amelia Knudsen who did not play on Sunday but has won 4 important matches to help the team make it to the final.
The boys and the girls will now look forward to representing the club in the summer Team Tennis starting in April. Look out for them on the courts…
