GUIDANCE FOR GOLF – 1 SEPTEMBER 2020

Welcome back to golf

This practical information has been prepared in consultation with the relevant Golf Governing Bodies and outlines a robust and monitored approach to help safeguard both our Members and staff during this pandemic.

Please do not visit the Club if you have any of the COVID-19 symptoms or if you are in self-isolation due to a household member displaying symptoms.

Please show your membership card to Security when entering the Club.

GOLF

◊ Members can book up to a maximum of seven days ahead.
◊ All players must be off the golf course by 21:30.
◊ All tee times must be booked via Intelligent Golf.

Will we be able to play 18 holes?

Yes
Please select 2020 1st tee course from the drop down in Intelligent Golf.
Members will NOT be permitted to book to play two rounds of 9 on a 9 holes only day.

Golf Tee Time bookings

Monday 9 holes only

2 balls – 1st tee (08:00-20:00) | 3 and 4 balls – 10th tee (08:00-20:00)

Tuesday 18 holes

2 balls (07:30-08:50) | 3 and 4 balls (09:00-20:00)

Wednesday 18 holes

2 balls (07:30-08:50) | 3 and 4 balls (09:00-20:00)

Thursday 9 holes only

3 or 4 balls – 1st tee (08:00-20:00) | 2 balls – 10th tee (08:00-20:00)

Friday 18 holes

2 balls (07:30-08:50) | 3 and 4 balls (09:00-20:00)

Saturday 18 holes

2 balls (07:30-08:50) | 3 and 4 balls (09:00-20:00)

Sunday 18 holes

2 balls (07:30-08:50) | 3 and 4 balls (09:00-20:00)

How to book

◊ Members can book up to a maximum of seven days ahead.
◊ All tee times must be booked via Intelligent Golf.
◊ If you don’t have / have forgotten your login details for your IG profile then please email Tristan.mcillroy@roehamptonclub.co.uk
◊ Phone bookings are available via Club Reception 020 8480 4200 between 08:00-20:30 Monday-Friday and 08:00-19:30 Saturday-Sunday.
◊ We ask all to be respectful of their fellow Members and to make an extra effort to cancel their tee times if they can no longer make them.

Who can play?

Members – all Members must have the appropriate playing rights.
Juniors wishing to play who are aged 14 -17 may do so without being accompanied by an adult.
Juniors aged 12-14 can play unaccompanied BUT a parent MUST remain on site.
Juniors who are aged 11 and under MUST be accompanied on course by an adult Member from their household.

Can I invite a guest?

Members may invite and book ONE GUEST to play golf on any day.
Guests MUST be signed in at the Gatehouse prior to their arrival.
Guest fees MUST be paid for at Club Reception before play. There is a reduced 9 hole rate applicable for guests playing on Mondays and Thursdays.

Social distancing guidelines apply at all times.

Members are to ensure their guest is made aware of the Club Dress Code Rules and must make them aware of the expected golfing etiquette.

The Club will review this policy regularly and relax when suitable to do so.

Will I be allowed in the Clubhouse?

Yes – access to the Clubhouse is permitted for Members wishing to use the available catering facilities.

Locker Rooms – access is permitted for those needing to use the toilet facilities and to collect or deposit golf clubs

What do I do when I arrive?

Please arrive no more than 15 minutes before your pre-booked tee time and head towards the Sports Shop. The team will check you in. This will allow time for a brief warm up.

Can I go into the Sports Shop?

Yes, please observe social distancing measures that are in place. Card payment only, no cash accepted at the till. Note that that you must wear a face mask from 24th July onwards.

What facilities will be available?

Nets

2 x nets behind the trolley sheds will be available for use to warm up ahead of play
1 x net beside the Practice area to the right of the 18th hole will be available for use to warm up, with the remaining net available to be booked for up to 45 minutes for practice.

Practice Area

There will be one bay allocated to Member practice. Members MUST provide and collect their own practice balls. Members MUST ensure that their practice balls are clearly marked for identification purposes.

Short Game Area / Practice Bunker

The short game area / practice bunker to the right of the 18th will be available for one Member to use at a time. Members MUST use and collect their own practice balls.

Putting and Chipping Greens

Not bookable. A maximum number of six Members may use this area at any one time.

Bookings

Bookings are available 24 hours in advance and MUST be made by via the Sports Shop – 020 8876 3858
Bookings are available from 08:00- 19:00. The final bookable time for the Practice Area will 17:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Practice sessions are bookable on the hour.

Practice sessions are to be for a maximum of 45 minutes (including the collection of balls and vacating of area). Please exercise caution when collecting balls as tuition may also be taking place.

Once out on the course, what can I expect to be different?

Toilets to the left of the 8th tee and right of the 10th green will remain open. These will be cleaned and sanitised regularly.

Social distancing must always be observed. No rakes in bunkers, please smooth down with your foot or club once you have played. Ball washers will be covered and out of use. Divot boxes have been removed. Please do not touch the flag. A ball retrieval device has been fitted to the flag for simple retrieval of ball which meets R&A approval (Use a putter to lift the device and do not lift with your hand). The air hose shoe cleaners are switched off.

Can I hire a golf trolley or single seater buggy?

Yes, these can be booked via the Sports Shop. Once used and returned these items will be sanitised thoroughly. Members can collect their own trolleys from the Trolley Sheds. Members are encouraged to sanitise these before and after play (cleaning equipment will be available from the Starter).

Are the Professionals permitted to teach?

Yes, one-to-one and group (Max.4) coaching with a member of the PGA team is allowed.

N.B. The situation surrounding COVID-19 and golf is ever changing and as such the above guidelines will be regularly reviewed in line with the latest England Golf recommendations. Any amendments will be added and distributed to Members as and when appropriate.

Members who do not adhere to the rules at any point or deliberately place other Members and staff at risk will be asked to leave the premises immediately and potentially face disciplinary action. Please respect the rules and everyone else.
