Seniors’ Golf News

It was a long wait but on 24th June Roehampton Club’s Seniors finally managed to play a Grail – the first since March and the first qualifying one since January. This event also marked our first attempt at using the new IG members’ app and predictably there were a few teething problems!

In the absence of a competition start sheet there was some confusion as to who was playing in the event. Eventually the results were published thanks to some hard work by Tristan who had to enter nearly 20 cards manually. A record total of 59 cards were submitted and prizes were awarded to the following:

1st       Raj Vara                    44 points

2nd      Roger Mountney    43

3rd      David Todd               41

4th      Graham Terry          40

5th      Clive Nicholson        37

Congratulations to all the above.

Our next event is the delayed Senior Spring Medal which takes place on Wednesday 15th July. The July Grail will follow two weeks later on 29th July. I am pleased to confirm that we will have a start sheet for both these competitions! Competitors will be asked to pay a £2 entry fee using Sagepay and use of the app is encouraged but those who find it too challenging will be allowed to hand in a signed card at the end of their round.

We will also be starting our summer knockouts which we hope to complete by the end of October i.e. an extra month to allow for four rounds for each competition
