Racquet Director’s Diary

I’m sure Members are glad they can still come and play some tennis at the Club. At least for the time being. Please note that Club afternoons and evening sessions are cancelled too. While the Club has suspended its organised activity, the Government have currently indicated that recreational exercise that takes place at a safe distance from others and in safe exercise environments is something that can continue for now. With this in mind please see the guidance with advise on social distancing measures provided on the government website:
www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-guidance-on-social-distancing-and-for-vulnerable-people/guidance-on-social-distancing-for-everyone-in-the-uk-and-protecting-older-people-and-vulnerable-adults

I’m conscious of the fact that many of you will be at home self-isolating at this period or at some point during the coming weeks. Sport England have stated that the coronavirus crisis could have a significantly negative impact on the nation’s physical activity levels. Being active in a way that is right for you, can improve your physical health, help manage stress and anxiety and just generally make you feel better. For ideas of how to stay active when at home take a look at this page from the Sport England website at

I hope to see everyone back on court soon.
