Live Lounge

The Live Lounge is a series of free virtual musical performances streamed live via Zoom or YouTube with the option of pre-ordering a takeaway meal. Enjoy the performance in the comfort of your own home with a delicious takeaway meal from the Roehampton Club Kitchen.

Alistair McGowan

Thursday 11th March, 7pm

Join Alistair at his new home in Shropshire as he plays six, short, solo piano pieces by the ever-popular French composer Erik Satie (1866-1925) interspersed with some short anecdotes about Satie’s musical life, Alistair’s comedic life and our frustrated lives during the Coronavirus pandemic.

A ‘virtual’ evening of laughter and beautiful, soothing music. A perfect 30-minute antidote to lockdown woes!

Katriona Taylor

Took place on Friday 26th February

UK jazz singer Katriona Taylor presents a wonderful evening of songs from her favourite composers – Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Gershwin and more. With her silky-smooth vocals, Katriona elegantly brings the masters to life. Katriona is the daughter of former British tennis champion Roger Taylor and will perform with her pianist Peter Hammond. Approx. 30 minutes

Richard Sully

Took place on Tuesday 2nd March

Richard Sully has been associated with Roehampton Club for the past fifteen years. As a freelance professional pianist, he has played the piano all over the world during his 37 year career.

He was formerly resident pianist at London’s Savoy Hotel and now is most often engaged to play at events all over the UK and abroad. Notably, Richard was booked to play a five hour set of requests at the wedding of George and Amal Clooney in 2014, a similar booking was carried out in 2016 at a private birthday party for Elon Musk, now the world’s richest man!

He will be happy to play Members’ requests of popular songs, songs from the musicals and film themes during his Zoom performance.

Karl Lutchmayer

Took place on 20th February

Karl Lutchmayer is equally renowned as a concert pianist and a lecturer. A Steinway Artist, Karl performs across the globe, and has worked with conductors including Lorin Maazel and Sir Andrew Davis, and performed at all the major London concert halls. Approximately 1hr.
