Croquet Communique

The Lawns have seen almost constant use, despite some showery and windy weather.

There have been a few more relaxations of ‘guidance’, but none that affect croquet. The Croquet Pavilion will remain closed until further notice.

CA National Inter-Club Golf Croquet Tournament

We played Sussex County Croquet Team at home on Sunday 28th June, 2020.  A fine, but windy day, saw the Roehampton Club team stick to their task, and playing some good croquet, gave us a brilliant win, by 5-1 win, with one game unfinished, as it was not required. Congratulations to the team, who were Tim Russell, (Captain) with Harry Fisher, Dan Pearson and Mark van Loon.

Our next match will be against the winners of the Watford versus High Wycombe tie.

CA National Inter-Club Association Croquet Tournament

On this coming Sunday 12th July, Roehampton Club will entertain Hurlingham at home in the above competition. The Roehampton Club team is Tim Russell, (Captain), Harry Fisher, Peter Siddall and Mark van Loon.

We believe the Hurlingham Team will be closely ‘matched’, so we expect a tough challenge, and wish our team well.

Summer Competitions

Matches are proceeding well. Please keep ahead of the schedule and remember to notify your results.

My Mallet

My mallet has been enjoying watching some very close and competitive matches, particularly in the Level Doubles.

New Players

We are very pleased to see some new players on the lawns in the last few weeks;  some have come from other sections, and are new to the game, and others have more experience, but have not ventured onto our lawns before. We welcome them all, and hope they continue to enjoy their croquet and join in section activities.
