Chief Executive’s Message

Dear Member

It was wonderful to see the Club busy again after Lockdown 2 and thank you to all Members for observing the COVID Secure rules in each of the areas. Our new outside catering areas with heaters and covers have been well received and when the glass screens are fitted late December Members will be warmer and cosier when eating their substantial meal. We have our fingers crossed that the screens being dispatched from Italy this week manage to circumnavigate the turmoil at UK Customs before Christmas despite us still being part of the EU for a few more days.

Boxing Day Opening

We are opening the Club with these outdoor catering areas on Boxing Day (9am to 4pm) for the first time for many years as a one off due to the closures we have experienced. We will remain closed on Christmas Day so Members and staff can spend that with their families but look forward to welcoming those who want to exercise after over indulging the day before. For our full Holiday Opening timetable click here.

Please note that the maximum stay for Members to eat and drink at the Club is up to a maximum of 3 hours to avoid being in breach of regulations and to ensure we help the Club to stay COVID Secure as infection rates rise and London looks like entering Tier 3 restrictions any time soon.

Golf Course Safety Works

Works on the golf course have continued at pace despite the inclement weather. Peter and his team will have completed the 18th tee by mid-January with new safety fencing in place and we can then install a temporary tee behind the new tee. The temporary Par 3 tee will need to continue until then.

Thank you for your patience in playing off this tee as well as the new temporary tee on the 10th hole. Both have had to be installed for safety reasons as balls have been hit into neighbouring properties. We will be applying for planning permission to increase the height of our protective perimeter fencing along Priory Lane this winter.

Croquet and Squash Tuition for Juniors

It is good to see that our younger members are being given the opportunity to play croquet and squash in addition to golf and tennis. Sign up for the Croquet Christmas Youth Event on December 16th between 1pm and 5pm – click here for the poster – (croquet under floodlights will be fun) and the pre-Christmas Squash Junior Club night and Drill sessions taken by Paul Lindsay – click here

Club Diaries

Members have been asking when this perennial stocking filler will be ready for collection – we are expecting them on 21st December at Reception.

Christmas Hampers

Executive Chef Arnaud has excelled himself in providing delicious hampers as gifts or to save you venturing out to shop this Christmas – click here for details

Merry Christmas to all and fingers crossed for a much better New Year to enjoy our Club.

Best wishes

Marc
