Dear All,
We are hoping to go ahead with the Summer Drinks Party as planned on 1st July at 6pm
Tickets will go on sale at Reception and online on 15th June. We have delayed the sale of tickets to make sure that Government guidelines will allow the party to take place.

Assuming the party happens then we will run a Chicago evening after the drinks starting at 7.30pm. There will be a separate booking for this on the Club’s online booking system (or by telephone to Reception). There will be no charge for the Bridge.
To comply with Covid-19 guidelines we can safely get ten tables appropriately distanced so numbers for the Bridge will be restricted to 40. Please book as a pair (or as a 4).
Should the party go ahead, and you are not participating in the Chicago then we would encourage you to take advantage of the good dining at Roehampton Club and book a table on the terrace or Piano Bar for supper after the drinks.
We have had a Committee meeting to discuss the reopening of the Bridge Room. The Club are doing a Risk Assessment on our plans so full details of the new protocols will be available soon.
We are hoping to run a Duplicate session on a Monday afternoon at 1.30pm and a Thursday evening at 7.30pm.
Our first session will be Monday 5th July at 1.30pm.
Again, to comply with Covid regulations we will have a capacity of 40 to begin with and all sessions will need to be booked and paid for in advance. This will be available via the Club’s online booking system or by telephone.
Cost will be £3 per session.
I appreciate that not all of you will be comfortable with face-to-face Bridge initially and so we plan to keep the Wednesday afternoon session online on BBO for the foreseeable future. There will be a charge of £3 from 7th July.
Obviously, all the above is subject to there being no change to the easing of restrictions due on 21st June.
I understand that there have been a few problems with Usernames being blocked on BBO. This is due to the TD sometimes uploading the wrong list in error. I have been advised to let you know that if this happens to you there is a host who is there at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the session. Our TD is called Dart Vader. You can befriend him and contact him personally with any immediate issues before, during or after the game. He is there to resolve such issues.
Our two teams in the new Business House Handicap League are going well. The Diamonds Team have managed two wins out of two and the Hearts team have one win, one draw and one loss. Good luck in your remaining fixtures.
We are hopeful that the Golf and Bridge matches will go ahead.
7th July match vs Wimbledon Common Ladies
Please sign up for this match. It will be a 10am start for Bridge, followed by a light lunch and then 9 holes of golf in the afternoon.
This match is a great opportunity for lady golfers who have not played in many Bridge matches.

This will be a 9am start for Bridge, followed by lunch and then 18 holes of golf in the afternoon.

The next Teams’ event is on Friday 25th June at 3pm on Real Bridge. Please let me know if you would like to enter a Team on kate11blake@btinternet.com. It is a very enjoyable way to spend a Friday afternoon and I do hope that a lot of you will join us.
