A fantastic time was had at 2019 Art Group Exhibition opening reception Tuesday just gone. Marc Newey opened the show mentioning a record number of entries (118 with extras in the browsers) from 37 different artists.
There were paintings in all different media, plus sculpture, ceramic paintings, Arts and Crafts and a new category of Textile Art. The standard is really fabulous – the best I remember so pop into the Fountain Room and have a look. The show only runs until next Friday 22nd November so don’t delay! This year there is an opportunity to vote for your three favourite pieces. The winner will be exhibited in the Clubhouse for a while after the exhibition is taken down. The top ten will form part of an exhibition in the Reading Room next October 2020 to promote next year’s exhibition.
We had a fantastic Art Dinner afterwards. The Chefs, Catering and Events staff did us proud. Delicious food, wine, a fun quiz and party atmosphere. Thanks to all for making it happen and for supporting the Art Group’s endeavours.
